St. Valentine's Day Christian Custom? -- or Pagan Holiday

Isn't it time we examined why we encourage our children to celebrate St. Valentine's Day - when it is never mentioned in the Bible as a practice of the New Testament Church?
Let's stop teaching our children these pagan customs in memory of Baal the sun god - the original St. Valentine - and teach them instead what the Bible really says!

Teachers are all too often silent about the origin of the customs they are forced to teach in today's schools! If they were to speak out, many would lose their jobs!
Isn't it time we examined why we encourage our children to celebrate St. Valentine's Day - when it is never mentioned in the Bible as a practice of the New Testament Church?
Today, candy makers unload tons of heart-shaped red boxes for February 14, while millions of the younger set are annually exchanging valentines. Florists consider February 14 - St. Valentine's Day - as one of their best business days. And young lovers pair off - at least for a dance or two - at St. Valentine's balls.
Why? Where did these customs originate? Where do we find any such practices in the Bible?
How did we come to inherit these customs?
A Christian Custom?
Did you know that centuries before Christ, the pagan Romans celebrated February 15 and the evening of February 14 as an idolatrous and sensuous festival in honor of Lupercus, the "hunter of wolves"?
The Romans called the festival the "Lupercalia." The custom of exchanging valentines and all the other traditions in honor of Lupercus - the deified hero-hunter of Rome- was also linked anciently with the pagan practice of teen-agers "going steady." It usually led to fornication. Today, the custom of "going steady" is thought very modern. It isn't. It is merely a rebirth of an old custom "handed down from the Roman festival of the Lupercalia, celebrated in the month of February, when names of young women were put into a box and drawn out by men as chance directed." That's the admission of the Encyclopedia Americana, article, "St. Valentine's Day."
When Constantine made "Christianity" the official religion of the Roman Empire there was some talk in church circles of discarding this pagan free-for-all. But the Roman citizens wouldn't hear of it! So it was agreed that the holiday would continue as it was, except for the more grossly sensual observances.
It was not until the reign of Pope Gelasius that the holiday became a "Christian" custom. "As far back as 496, Pope Gelasius changed Lupercalia on February 15 to St. Valentine's Day on February 14." (p. 172 of Customs and Holidays Around the World by Lavinia Dobler).

But how did this pagan festival acquire the name of "St. Valentine's Day"? And why is the little naked Cupid of the pagan Roman so often associated today with February 14? And why do little children and young people still cut out hearts and send them on a day in honor of Lupercus the hunter of wolves? Why have we supposed these pagan customs in honor of a false god are Christians?

Valentine was a common Roman name. Roman parents often gave the name of their children in honor of the famous man who was first called Valentine in antiquity. That famous man was Lupercus, the hunter. But who was Lupercus? - and why should he have also borne the name Valentine among the heathen Romans?
The Greeks called Lupercus by the name of "Pan". The Semites called Pan "Baul," according to the Classical Dictionaries. Baal - mentioned so often in the Bible - was merely another name for Nimrod, "the mighty hunter" (Genesis 10:9) It was a common proverb of ancient time that Nimrod was "the MIGHTY hunter before the Lord." Nimrod was their hero - their strong man - their VALENTINE!

According to ancient tradition, Saturn (Nimrod) fled from his pursuers to Italy. The Apenine mountains of Italy were anciently named the mountains of Nembrod or Nimrod. Nimrod briefly hid out at the site where Rome was later built. The ancient name of Rome, before it was rebuilt in 753 B.C., was Saturnia - the site of Saturn's (Nimrod's) hiding. There he was found and slain for his crimes. Later, professing Christians in Constantine's day made Nimrod - the St. Valentine of the heathen- a Saint of the Church and continued to honor him under the name of a Christian martyr.
Why February 14?
But why should the Romans have chosen February 15 and the evening of February 14 to honor Lupercus - the Nimrod of the Bible? (Remember that day in ancient times began at sunset the evening before.)
Nimrod - Baal or sun god of the ancient pagans - was said to have been born at the winter solstice. In ancient time the solstice occurred on January 6 and his birthday therefore was celebrated on December 25 and now called Christmas. It was the custom of antiquity for, the mother of a male child to present herself for purification on the fortieth day after January 6 - Nimrod's original birth date - takes us to February 15, the celebration of which began on the evening of February 14 - the Lupercalia or St. Valentine's Day.
On this day in February, Semiramis, the mother of Nimrod, was said to have been purified and to have appeared for the first time in public with her son as the original "mother and child."

Inscribed on the monuments of ancient Egypt are inscriptions that Nimrod (the Egyptians called him Osiris) was "the husband of his mother."
As Nimrod grew up, he became the child-hero of many women who desired him. He was their Cupid! In the Book of Daniel he is called the "desire of women" (Dan. 11:37). Moffatt translates the word as Tammuz - a Babylonian name of Nimrod. He provoked so many women to jealousy that an idol of him was often called the "image of jealousy" (Ezekiel 8:5). Nimrod, the hunter, was also their Valentine - their strong or mighty her! No wonder the pagans commemorated their hero-hunter Nimrod, or Baal, by sending heart shaped love tokens to one another on the evening of February 14 as a symbol of him.
Nimrod, the mulatto son of Cush the Ethiopian, was later a source of embarrassment to the pagans of Europe. They didn't want an African to worship. Consequently, they substituted a supposed son of Nimrod, a white child name Horus, born after the death of Nimrod. This white child then became a "fair Cupid" of European tradition.
It is about time we examined these foolish customs of the pagans now falsely labeled Christian. It is time we quit this Roman and Babylonian foolishness - this idolatry - and get back to the faith of Christ delivered once for all time.

I am a white Israelite by race and a Christian Zionist by grace, of the tribes of Joseph and Judah, who teaches British Israel truth. Only those who recognize the scions of King David's dynasty today rule from the British Throne would agree I'm Jewish in part, due to my descent from the British and Scottish Royal Families (according to family). I do know Jews (members of Judaism) who believe in British Israel, such as Yair Davidiy of the Brit Am Israel organization but he strongly disagrees with me about interracial marriage and "racism" - so be it.
As for mortal men's quotes about Jews, I put my trust in the Word of God that reveals real Jews are fulfilling the prophcies about real Jews living and working in the Jewish homeland of Israel before Christ returns. Apparently their real or imagined "mixture" isn't enough for God to dismiss them, since HE calls them Jews and they're fulfilling prophecies only Jews can.
As for Judaism, I feel the same way about it as I do about TRADITIONAL Churchianity - where it's biblical, I'll agree, and where it's clearly pagan I'll disagree, expose and condemn it.

It's ironic many Jews (associated with Judaism to one degree or another) on other forums oppose me and tell me to go to Stormfront, etc. when I post the truth about Joseph and the Twelve Tribes of Israel, and then on forums such as this I'm hated for being a "Judaizer" or "Jewish" plant, even though counterfeit Christians everywhere attempt to brand me as a Judaizer, since they have their replacement theology.
Regardless, wisdom is justified of her children.

Obama's just another lying politician?

The Philadelphia Trumpet magazine article, Remember the Promises, presents itself as offering some great revelation about failed campaign promises. Haven't they ever heard of lying politicians? to take everything with a grain of salt? to don't hold your breath?
Many foolishly "trust in man," whether it's in a political party or religious organization. We can only expect so much from our leaders, and some are better qualified than others, but nations or congregations are blessed to the degree they humbly align themselves with the Word of God daily.
The Sabbath-keeping Church of God should encourage the national leaders of our White Israelite nations to remember our Hebrew roots and biblical responsibilities and reveal what God expects of them:
Deuteronomy 17:15-20
15 you shall surely set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. 16 But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for the LORD has said to you, ‘You shall not return that way again.’ 17 Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.

The Philadelphia Trumpet magazine article, Remember the Promises, presents itself as offering some great revelation about failed campaign promises. Haven't they ever heard of lying politicians? to take everything with a grain of salt? to don't hold your breath?
Many foolishly "trust in man," whether it's in a political party or religious organization. We can only expect so much from our leaders, and some are better qualified than others, but nations or congregations are blessed to the degree they humbly align themselves with the Word of God daily.
The Sabbath-keeping Church of God should encourage the national leaders of our White Israelite nations to remember our Hebrew roots and biblical responsibilities and reveal what God expects of them:
Deuteronomy 17:15-20

I didn't realize how much beef Argentina produces until I lived in Israel and worked as a volunteer for various kibbutzim (see God-given love for the Jews) in the kitchen (among elsewhere) and saw it stamped on the boxes. Being American, I thought most beef was from our beloved country. Maybe it is, haven't really checked it out.
Our Great Creator God blesses beef, chicken and certain seafood, so Bible-believing Christians and Jews should stubbornly reject any promotion of pork or other unclean foods that definitely aren't good for you, despite what serpents pimp.

SHOT Show interview with Robert Johnson of GONV
While staff from the National Association for Gun Rights was in Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2010 SHOT Show, Executive Director Dudley Brown sat down with Robert Johnson, Director of Gun Owners of Nevada, to discuss Nevada’s political landscape.

Dudley Brown (DB): Robert, it’s great to be here in Las Vegas. Gun Owners of Nevada has been going strong for just a few short years. Tell us a little bit about your group.
Robert Johnson (RJ): Thanks Dudley. It’s great to be able to meet with you here at SHOT Show. Gun Owners of Nevada was founded to be the no-compromise, no-excuses voice for the Second Amendment in Nevada. GONV was founded on the basic principle that you, as an American citizen, should not have to beg permission from the government to be able to defend yourself and your family. That’s why we are working to get a Vermont/Alaska style carry law passed. Simply put, unless you are a convicted felon or otherwise barred from possessing weapons, you do not need a permit to carry a gun for self-defense!
DB: That’s right! Vermont law is true firearms freedom. What are some of the other legal issues gun owners face in Nevada?
RJ: Many Nevada gun laws are unconstitutional and we are working to repeal them. These include the Clark County residents' requirement to “register” every handgun they own, as well as the 72 hour waiting period that is also imposed by Clark County for first-time handgun buyers. GONV is also opposed to the state-run Baby Brady law. Flaws in the system regularly prohibit law-abiding citizens from purchasing a legal firearm.
DB: I’m glad that the National Association for Gun Rights has a brother in arms in Nevada, fighting for the right to keep and bear arms. I know we share a similar view on the role of our organizations. Tell our members what sets Gun Owners of Nevada apart from other “pro-gun” groups in Nevada?: GONV is not interested in “access” or “relationships” with politicians. We have no desire to be “making deals.” We are about one thing and one thing only; the uncompromising representation of Gun Owners in Nevada. GONV is not authorized to negotiate away anyone's rights. When it comes to gun rights, GONV will not compromise.

GONV is also dedicated to holding our lawmakers accountable to the Constitution through grassroots constituent pressure. Unlike the typical lobby, which hires highly paid lobbyists to schmooze politicians, GONV works to inform and empower its membership to be involved in the legislative process. GONV enables thousands of individual citizens to be effective lobbyists right from their own homes.
Our long term goal is to remove every unreasonable restriction that our “leaders” have imposed on us.
DB: I’m encouraged every time I meet with state-level groups who share our “no compromise” view of gun rights. Working with groups like Gun Owners of Nevada and like-minded groups across the country, I’m confident we can build a gun rights army of grassroots activists, dedicated to holding politicians accountable.
Speaking of the compromises of political leadership, let’s talk about U.S. Senate Majority Leader and Nevada Democrat Harry Reid. He’s consistently been polling well behind his potential Republican opponents. What’s your view of this race, from the ground here in Nevada?
RJ: I will be very surprised if Senator Reid finds a way to squeak out his reelection in November. For years Reid has played the typical Washington game. When he’s home, he talks and acts conservatively, and as soon as he’s back in Washington D.C. all he cares about are the wishes of the liberal special interest groups.
That’s finally caught up with him. The people of Nevada are tired of Reid telling them one thing when he’s up for reelection, and doing the opposite when he’s voting in D.C. I have a feeling that Reid is going to be one of many victims of Beltway Fatigue this election cycle.
DB: Different politicians, same problem. There’s nothing I dislike more than the politician who’s no friend of gun owners, but shows up during election season with a 12 gauge and a camo hat at shooting ranges and pheasant hunts claiming to be a champion of the 2nd Amendment.
RJ: [laughs] Harry Reid pulled that very same stunt over the summer. He showed up at the ground breaking ceremony for a new gun range in the Las Vegas area, shot some clay pigeons and claimed to be a champion of the rights of gun owners.
Harry Reid has been anything but a friend of gun owners.
DB: Indeed. Tell me Robert, what can we expect out of the Republican primary race to challenge Reid for that Senate seat?
RJ: That’s a good question. The leading contenders in the primary are Sue Lowden and Danny Tarkanian. I firmly believe that one of them is going to be the next Senator from the state of Nevada.
DB: What should Nevada’s gun owners expect from Lowden or Tarkanian?
RJ: Gun owners should be wary of both Lowden and Tarkanian. Lowden is without a doubt the GOP Establishment candidate. From our candidate questionnaire (on our website) she seems to support some infringements. That’s a concern. She has also had interest in a business that did not allow CCW carry on premise. This is something we are continuing to look into.
In his unsuccessful bid for Secretary of State in 2006, Tarkanian was endorsed by the virulently anti-gun Brady Campaign. What does this ultimately mean for gun owners?
I believe that we may well be replacing one snake with another snake of a different color.
DB: You may very well be right, Robert. In my twenty years in politics, I have yet to meet an “Establishment” Republican candidate who wasn’t willing to sell out gun owners in order to get elected.

Does the United States Appear in Bible Prophecy?
Small nations like Egypt, Jordan and Libya are found in Bible prophecies of the time of the end. But what about the major English-speaking countries like the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia? Are they absent from Bible prophecy, or do we just not know where to look?
...Jacob told His son Joseph that his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, would grow to become great powers on earth, not in a tiny portion of the Middle East. Conveying to them the promises originally given to Abraham (and later expanded), he said, "Bless the lads; let my name be named upon them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth" (Genesis 48:16)...
...Jacob revealed that the descendants of Joseph would become two great peoples—brother nationalities. Both would dominate the earth as no others in history.
Thus, through them would be fulfilled the earlier promise to Jacob of a nation and company of nations. But have the prophecies of Israel's global greatness been fulfilled? Yes—by two geopolitical powers on the world stage that have defined global greatness for the last two centuries.
Descended from Ephraim was the group of nations that formed out of the greatest empire the world has ever seen, the British Empire.
It ruled over five times the territory of the Roman Empire, and four times the number of people. Its territory encompassed almost a quarter of the earth's population and surface, including many of its most fertile and productive regions. Meanwhile, the Royal Navy ruled the seas. Out of this power came the British-descended countries of the Commonwealth of Nations—Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
From Manasseh came the great single nation. Its people dwelt with the Ephraimites in Great Britain until it was time for their separation through westward colonization and a war for independence—the American Revolution, by which came the formation of the United States...
